Annadanam Seva

The Kamakhya Bhairava Upasaka Foundation (KBUF) has been organizing annadāna-sevā in various cities — from Kāśī to Coimbatore — as part of its dhārmic activities. For over a year now, annadāna has been offered every month on Aṣṭamī, Ṣaṣṭhī, Amāvasyā, and Paurṇimā tithi-s across different veda-pāṭhaśālā-s. This is carried out with the saṅkalpa of devatā-prīti — to please the devatā-s we worship — and also as a sacred act of seeking forgiveness for any lapses in sādhana, committed knowingly or unknowingly.

With the recent sevā-s at Tārāpīṭha, KBUF has expanded its annadāna to reach more cities and serve more people in need. Till now, programs have been conducted in Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Dibrugarh, Jalandhar, Kāśī, Jammu, Guwhati, Hubli, Coimbatore, Tarapith etc with more cities being added soon. In Chennai, we recently conducted a 60-day continuous annadāna program. For Pitrupaksh that finished this year before the navarathras - we did annadanam seva at various patashalas every day.

These efforts are carried forward by dedicated KBUF volunteers across cities. In the coming year, along with the commencement of the temple project, the Annadāna program will be further expanded to new places.

Annadan at Kankalitala, West Bengal

Annadanam Update Date: 01st November 2026 Location: Kankalitala Temple, Birbhum Number of people served: 420+ Menu: Khichdi, Aloo Dum, Sweets On the auspicious occasion of Krishna saptami which coincided with a Sunday, the volunteers gathered at the designated meeting point in front of the temple to offer their humble seva at the divine feet of Baba and Maa. The crowd was significantly larger than usual, with devotees and families continuously gathering in long queues to receive the blessings of Baba and Maa in the form of prasad. We began by putting up the banner and standee and preparing the altar. With the lighting of diyas and incense sticks, aarti we offered bhog to Baba and Maa, seeking their blessings before commencing the Annadanam Seva. As we prepared and made the offerings, our minds remained immersed in the remembrance of the divine, silently chanting the Pranam Mantras of Bhairav Baba and Maa Tara. Soon, we began serving khichdi, aloo dum and sweets to everyone present. The gathering comprised people from all walks of life and across generations — little children, young devotees, parents and grandparents, all waiting patiently to receive the prasad. The happiness on their faces were truly heartwarming. By the divine grace and blessings of Baba and Maa, the entire seva proceeded smoothly and seamlessly despite the exceptionally large crowd. Witnessing the joy and contentment on the faces of everyone receiving the prasad filled our hearts with immense gratitude and happiness. It was a beautiful reminder that Annadanam is not merely about offering food; it is a humble act of service, compassion and devotion — an opportunity to serve the divine in every being. Our heartfelt gratitude to Baba and Maa for blessing us with this opportunity to serve. May Baba and Maa continue to guide us, strengthen our devotion and bless us.

Chennai monthly annadanam

3,000 people served Annadanam Seva Update 📅 Wednesday– Nov 4 2026 About the Seva: Annadanam conducted evert Wednesday at Kasi Vishwanathar temple, Kannagi Nagar, Chennai. Sponsored by KBUF Menu: Rice, Sambar, Poriyal People Served: 700+ This afternoon, we had our Wednesday annadanam in Chennai. We had 2 volunteers join the seva with great excitement and gratitude. As always the annadanam began with the chants of Om Namah Shivaya and Vetrivel Muruganukku Arohara. May the devatas’ blessings lead to the establishment of the eight Bhairava temples, may they continue to protect, guide, and elevate everyone who contributed, openly or silently, to this sacred act of nourishment and compassion.
